The company

What it does

NVIDIA designs graphics processors, networking products and software platforms used in data centres, gaming, professional visualization, automotive systems and robotics. Its CUDA software and accelerated-computing systems are sold through cloud providers, manufacturers and other technology partners.

Across markets

The company’s FY2025 filing reports $115.2 billion in data-centre revenue, up from $47.5 billion a year earlier. That gives NVIDIA a large role in the supply chain for AI and cloud computing, though the filing does not show how much of that hardware is used for any one application. The International Energy Agency projects that global data-centre electricity use will roughly double between 2025 and 2030. That forecast applies to the whole sector; it is not a company-specific footprint estimate. NVIDIA’s products help expand computing capacity, while the electricity and infrastructure needed to run that capacity remain part of the impact story.

What the record tells us

NVIDIA appears repeatedly in TIME’s 2022–2024 company lists and in Fortune’s 2025 workplace and reputation rankings. Those are editorial and survey recognitions, not a string of judged trophies. The 2026 WCRC and TIME entries fall outside this edition’s 2001–2025 window. The company’s business impact is clearest in the data-centre supply chain; measuring the effect of that role requires separating chip sales, downstream uses and the energy consumed by customers.
