GCEIP 500 Company profile

IndusInd Bank Limited

IndusInd Bank reported about 42 million clients and 3,139 branches and banking outlets in September 2026. The figures tell a story of reach across India; the bank’s 2025 accounting disclosures explain why scale alone is not the whole story.

The company

What it does

IndusInd Bank Limited is an Indian private-sector bank. It provides retail, corporate and commercial banking services, including deposits, lending, payments and treasury products. Its wholly owned subsidiary Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited works as a business correspondent, originating small-ticket loans for the bank.

Across markets

The bank’s September 2026 results report about 42 million clients, 3,139 branches or banking outlets, and 2,773 ATMs. Its balance sheet stood at ₹5.80 lakh crore, with deposits of ₹4.29 lakh crore. These are company-reported measures of a business whose reach is primarily domestic. In the same release, IndusInd reported a net profit of ₹1,242 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with a net loss of ₹437 crore in the year-earlier quarter. That recovery follows a difficult FY2025: the bank said its year-end financial statements reflected irregularities brought to the Board’s attention from March 2025 and recorded a Q4 loss while accounting for their impact. The two sets of results give readers both the size of the bank’s network and the recent financial context; neither alone measures customer outcomes or the quality of controls.

What the record tells us

Two different records put IndusInd Bank on this research page. WCRC ranked the IndusInd Bank brand #50 in its 2024–25 India list of 50 Most Powerful Brands. That is a brand research ranking, not a judged award, and GCEIP has not audited WCRC’s underlying research. NDTV’s 2012 Business Leadership Awards gallery names IndusInd Bank as the recipient in the “Bank – Growth Champion” category; an NDTV video also confirms the result. The NDTV award is source-confirmed, but the programme’s historical selection rules and terms are still under review, so it earns no point yet. The bank’s 2025 disclosures about irregularities are part of the company’s recent record and belong beside, not underneath, its recognition history. No overall GCEIP rank has been assigned.
