The company

What it does

Apple designs and sells iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch and related services. It controls product design and software while relying on a large supplier network for components, assembly, logistics and materials.

Across markets

Apple’s fiscal 2025 filing reports operations and sales across a broad international market, while its Environmental Progress Report says gross emissions were more than 60% below 2015 levels by 2024. The report includes supplier renewable-energy projects and recycled-material targets; Apple says Bureau Veritas and the Fraunhofer Institute provide third-party verification for parts of its environmental data. The figure is a gross-emissions comparison, not a claim that Apple has reached carbon neutrality across its products. Its largest climate challenge remains the footprint of making and using devices across a global supply chain.

What the record tells us

Apple’s recognition record combines TIME’s editorial company list across 2021–2023 with Fortune’s 2025 reputation ranking. These placements reflect influence and reputation, not a count of trophies. Its environmental programme is measurable enough to examine year to year, but GCEIP will keep company-reported reductions, third-party assurance and the remaining supply-chain footprint distinct.
